A New Year's Resolution: My Blogging

Somehow I caught the “Blog Bug” and now have a resolution for this new year, and I think it no coincidence that today I was lead to listen to the following by Elder Ballard, spoken at BYU Hawaii’s commencement exercises:

“… May I ask that you join the conversation by participating on the Internet, particularly the New Media, to share the gospel and to explain in simple and clear terms the message of the Restoration. Most of you already know that if you have access to the Internet you can start a blog in minutes and begin sharing what you know to be true….

“We are living in a world saturated with all kinds of voices. Perhaps now, more than ever, we have a major responsibility as Latter-day Saints to define ourselves, instead of letting others define us...

“As you participate in this conversation and utilize the tools of New Media, remember who you are--Latter-day Saints… We simply need to have a conversation, as friends in the same room would have, always guided by the prompting of the Spirit and constantly remembering the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ which reminds us of how precious are the children of our Father in Heaven.”

So… Elder Ballard’s comments gave me encouragement to commit to share more of my knowledge, testimony, and experiences as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to be another voice. You’ll find snatches of my these throughout my blog, including many links that will direct my readers to other websites to explain the doctrines more clearly.
